Image Revisions

In PhotoBerry Studio, you can upload and manage different versions of an image, referred to as revisions, for both galleries and sessions. This feature helps you track changes and maintain multiple versions of the same image, making it easier to manage client feedback or implement edits. When a client requests changes to an image, you can upload new revisions without overwriting the original image. This ensures that each version is preserved, allowing you to track all edits and revert to any previous version if needed.

How to Upload an Image Revision

  1. Access the Image Settings
    • In the gallery or session, navigate to the Photos tab.
    • Find the image you want to upload a revision for.
    • Hover over the image and click the gear icon () to open the Image Settings sidebar.
    • Go to the Revisions tab, where you can upload a new version of the image and manage existing revisions.

Why Use Image Revisions?

Image revisions are helpful when working with clients who request changes or edits to an image. Rather than overwriting the original image, revisions allow you to maintain a record of every version, ensuring you can always revert to previous versions if needed.

How to Preview Image Revisions

  1. Open the Lightbox View

    • Click on the image thumbnail to open it in the Lightbox.
    • Once the lightbox is open, you can preview all revisions by clicking the left or right arrows or using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
  2. Switch Back to All Photos

    • Below the image in the lightbox, there’s an option to switch back to the All Photos view, which shows the entire gallery or session as a lightbox carousel.

Managing Revisions

  • Delete a Revision: Any revision that isn’t marked as the original or current version can be deleted. Simply go to the Revisions tab and choose the version you want to remove.

  • Revert to a Previous Revision: If you want to revert to an older revision, mark it as the Current Revision. This version will be displayed on the frontend.

  • View Upload Dates: Each revision displays its upload date, allowing you to easily track when changes were made.

Revision Types

  • Original Revision: This is the first version of the image uploaded. It cannot be deleted.
  • Current Revision: This is the version currently displayed on the frontend.
